Master Benedict changed Christopher's life by taking Christopher in as an apprentice, saving his life, and giving him clues to get into the Cult of the Archangels lair. Master Benedict taking Christopher in as an apprentice changed Christopher's life because out of all of the apprentices that Master Benedict could have chosen he chose Christopher. Saving Christopher also changed his life because he still has a life when Master Benedict doesn’t. Master Benedict also changed Christopher's life when he left all of the clues for Christopher to follow to figure out who killed him. I would describe Master Benedict as a kind, smart, good hearted man.

Master Benedict took Christopher out of an orphanage and gave him a place to live. The second way is how Master Benedict gave him the job of an apprentice to an apothecary. That results into Christopher getting a career as an apothecary and getting good money. The last way is how Master Benedict gave Christopher the chance to make new friends. Christopher became friends with Tom because of Master Benedict. If I had to describe what type of person Master Benedict is I would say he is caring, and loving, but when it comes to work he is serious and strict.

Christopher was orphaned he didn’t have a home, he was hit daily but most important he didn’t have anyone to love not family or friends. Master Benedict not only took Christopher in but also cared for him. Though Christopher was Master Benedict's apprentice, they had a stronger relationship than just work. Master Benedict actually cared for Christopher. The next life changing thing Master Benedict did for Christopher was giving him the chance to be his apprentice. Most orphaned kids weren’t given this chance. Last, Master Benedict saved Christopher’s life. Though Christopher didn’t know it at the time Master Benedict was just disguising their relationship for the future. Overall, Master Benedict is a very nice, kind, and humble man who knows things he wished he didn’t. All in all, these are a couple life changing things Master Benedict has given Christopher.

What I consider the three most important things Master Benedict does for Christopher was saving his life, giving him about the Cult of Archangel, and giving Christopher a home. How Master Benedict saved Christopher life was by getting him away so that when Master Benedict was murdered, Christopher still had his life. Master Benedict secretly taught Christopher through his apprenticeship for these clues he made. Doing this was very important that he did for Christopher because he knows by doing this Christopher could hopefully end the Cult of Archangel. Lastly, which I personally think was the best, was giving him a home. Christopher had no friends or family but when Master Benedict gave him a life, that was how he met Tom. This touched me as Master Benedict did all these things because he considered Christopher as a son and that touched me.

The three most important things that Master Benedict does for Christopher are saving him from death, even though Christopher wished to be with him, teaching him the ways of an apothecary, and providing him with a home, food and comfort. Master Benedict took Christopher in as a child and made him in to a man. Master Benedict was the type of person who liked to get work done. He would get frustrated at times but that changed. He helped Christopher. Master Benedict treated him like a son. If he did something wrong then he would correct him for it. He made Christopher into a hard worker.

I think that the most important three things that he does for Christopher are, he gave him a home to live in outside the orphanage, encouraged him to make things and new friends, and last, Master Benedict taught him how to decipher codes to make remedies. When Benedict took Christopher out of the orphanage he gave him a stable place to stay where he wasn’t always getting beaten. Master Benedict encouraged him to make new things. One of the things that he made was a catapult. While shooting the catapult one of the bullets hit Tom who then became his best friend. The most important thing that Master Benedict does for Christopher is teach him how to decipher codes. Christopher became very good at this, so when his Master died he left him a code to decipher to help Christopher find who killed Benedict. I think that Master Benedict is a kind, caring man and allowed Christopher to learn from his mistakes. This shows that Benedict really does care about Christopher.

For one Christopher was living in an orphanage when Master Benedict came and took him in, he gave him a home and in some ways he was a parent like figure to Christopher. He showed him the ways of an apothecary and taught him how to do things people only imagine how to do. Master Benedict also saved Christopher's life which showed just how much he cared for him. When Master Benedict died he left a code for Christopher that no one else could read, because of the codes that he taught him. He left him a way to find out who had killed him in a way only Master Benedict and Christopher would know. While reading this book I have noticed just how much Benedict had cared for Christopher he basically became like a father to him and that changed Christopher's life forever.

ReplyDeleteI think that Master Benedict changed Chris’s life for the better in a very drastic way. Starting out with the obvious, Master Benedict gave Chris a home other than the orphanage where Chris was constantly taunted because he was one of the younger orphans. Another way Master Benedict helped him is that he doesn’t just dish out beatings and slaps unlike Chris’ friend, Tom’s father. The third thing Master Benedict has done for Chris is Master Benedict taught him his codes and trusted him with his very own recepies and remedies. Master Benedict seems like a kind man who has a temper when pushed but only when rightfully mad. For example, when Chris and Tom decide to go make a cannon and shoot it in master Blackthorn’s shop, Master Benedict’s first words are very aggravated sounding “ Christopher, Yes. Did I miss a war while I was out?” This is followed by a series of other sarcastic remarks before the real yelling starts. Overall, Master Benedict is a fun man who uses sarcasm at needed times, he is strict and doesn’t put up with nonsense but still has fun by occasionally joking around with Chris. Master Benedict definitely made a positive change in Chris’ life.

There are many ways that I think Master Benedict Changed Christopher's life. First, Benedict gave him a home. Benedict took Christopher away from the terrible orphanage and gave him a wonderful place to live. Second, Master Benedict, taught Christopher many lessons so Christopher can become an apothecary himself. Lastly, I think Benedict Changed Christopher's life by smacking him. It was to save his life so Christopher may be able to find out who killed Master Benedict. Doing all this for Christopher makes Master Benedict a wonderful and caring man. I think Master Benedict is brave, caring and most of all, a very heartfelt person.

DeleteGavin Bracken - There were multiple ways in which Master Benedict helped young Christopher. One example being Benedict saved Chris from being a street beggar for the rest of his life, by taking him as his apprentice. Next Master Benedict gave Christopher the puzzle cube for his birthday, which ended up being the link to the Archangel's fire. Finally Benedict sent Chris away when he knew the Cult was coming for him. Thus saving Christopher's life. There were still many things Master benedict did for Chris but there are too many to put into words. Master Benedict sure did love Chris!

I think this because if it were not for Master Benedict, Christopher wouldn’t be able to decipher any of the clues. He also wouldn’t know about what it means to be an apothecary and know how to correctly mix the different ingredients. Other than teaching him important skills about an apothecary, Master Benedict gave him a home that protected him, while the orphanage beat him every time he did something wrong. The only time Master Benedict hit Christopher was to protect him from his killers Wat and Nathanial Stubb. To support this, on page 20, Christopher thought, “This would normally be when the apprentice-in this case, me- would receive a solid, heartfelt beating. But in the three years I’d lived with Master Benedict, he’d never struck me.” Master Benedict was a father to Christopher.
Master Benedict really changed Christopher's life, but in a completely good way. When Christopher was in the orphanage, Master Benedict took Chris under his wing and taught him how to create remedies, as well as healing potions and deadly poisons. Benedict Blackthorn gave Christopher a home, a life worth living, and it seems Master Benedict even became a father figure to Chris. Master Benedict was kind to Christopher, and only hit him when it was needed, to protect Christopher from the people who later killed Master Benedict, whereas the orphanage hit Chris every time he did something wrong. I truly believe that Master Benedict changed Christopher's life for the better.

When Master Benedict took In Christopher and taught him all about apothecary was one of the best things he did for Christopher. Another fantastic thing Master Benedict did for Christopher was give him a home. Master Benedict gave Christopher a home, and as for as much as we know, it was his only home besides the orphanage. Besides all of this the only time Master Benedict had hit Christopher was to protect him from the murders who would later kill Mater Benedict. When Christopher was in the orphanage he would receive a "heartfelt" beating anytime he did something wrong. Master Benedict is a very kind person to everyone, and has been especially nice to Christopher.

ReplyDeleteIf I was in charge of Archangel's Fire, I would not really know what to do with it. I would most likely stay away from it. I would want to stay away from it because it would most likely kill me or cause alot of pain becasue it is God's fire. I feel like it would burn me the same way that it burnt Master benedcit. If I was in charge of Archangel's Fire I feel like this would be a very bad thing. I feel like I might knock it over and cause a big fire and tremendous amounts of danger to everyone.

Christopher had always heard stories of how masters beat their apprentices, and the apprentices were only allowed to eat stale bread and such. Master Benedict proved that wrong when he took Christopher in, as he treated Christopher as equally as possible, and had never laid a hand on him. He also, albeit inadvertently, taught Christopher how to decode things he probably shouldn't have, and to have an eye for the tiniest of details. Master Benedict was a quiet, dedicated man who mostly seemed to keep the things bothering him to himself. He was very adamant about his work, and made sure everything was done accordingly.
Going to live with Master Benedict changes Christophers life in many ways. Christopher went from living in a cruel orphanage where no one loved him. When he went to live with Master Benedict Christopher finally has a home.Three of the most important things Master Benedict does for Christopher is he is very patient with him, he helps Christopher and gave him a home, a place where he feels safe and welcome. Master Benedict is a very kind and compassionate person. He is very loving and welcoming. He is also gentle. Master Benedict even let Christopher run the shop for a little while he went out and did stuff. Master Benedict took Christopher in and kept him well. But in the orphanage Christopher was mistreated. Second Master Benedict taught Christopher how to build and use remedys like on page 32 he taught him how to use madapple to treat asthma. Lastly Master Benedict celebrated Chris's birth day.
I think that the first and foremost way Master Benedict changed Christopher’s life was giving him a home. If Master Benedict wouldn’t have taken Christopher in his own house, Christopher would still be in an orphanage as a cook. Another significant thing Master Benedict did was giving Christopher a job as an apprentice to him. Because Master Benedict gave Christopher the apprenticeship, Christopher is able to earn money and live his life how he wants to. One other thing that Master Benedict did for Christopher was giving him a chance to meet new people outside of the orphanage. He gave Christopher the chance to meet Tom. When Christopher had picked Master Benedict to be his master, he thought he had picked the worst of them all since he was super tall. Soon Christopher realized that this was not true at all. The second thing Master Benedict gave him was an apprenticeship. Since Master Benedict was an apothecary, Christopher would improve his intelligence by learning how to decipher codes and how to heal sicknesses. The last thing Master Benedict has given Christopher is a peaceful environment to work in. Since Master Benedict is not as strict as the other masters he is able to relax and get the job done with out being rushed. All in all, Master Benedict is very good master and has given Christopher a very successful life.

ReplyDeleteIt is very apparent while reading The Blackthorn Key, that Master Benedict has changed Christopher’s life in many ways. One of the most important of these is that, without Master Benedict, Christopher would be living on the streets. On page 81 it says “The masters did their best to place the children before they turned thirteen, but not everyone ended up with a job or apprenticeship. If you aged out without anywhere to go… life on the streets wouldn’t be good to you.” Another important way Master Benedict changed Christopher's life was that he became an adult figure Christopher could look up to and learn from. Which leads to what I believe is the most important way Master Benedict changed Christopher's life. He taught Christopher everything he knew about being an apothecary, and helped Christopher develop a love and passion for the trade. I think this is very important because Christopher has such a passion for apothecarie work and without Master Benedict he would have never found his calling. I think Master Benedict is a very kind man. He not only took Christopher under his wing, but he taught him in a much nicer way than most masters, which I think helped Christopher grow his love for the job.
