Response 8
In chapter 31 Christopher is very conflicted about what to do with the power of the Archangel’s Fire. What would you do if you were left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire?
If I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire and knew what it would do I would destroy it. The reason that I would destroy it is that no one should have that power, and on page 311 and 312 it shows you, “With this legacy comes a choice you will have to make, Isaac had said. I understood now, too. In sending me here, Master Benedict had placed the final decision about the Archangel’s fire in my hands. What would i do with his discovery? Work with it, like my master had, to try to change its nature further and unlock God’s healing power? Hide it, and let no one know it had been discovered? Or should I destroy it, and keep it out of human hands forever? Master Benedict had searched for the raw power of the universe, to be shaped for the betterment of man, and instead he found an unearthly weapon. His friend Hugh had died because of it, and ten others had been murdered in the hunt. The very first lesson that Master Benedict had taught me was that our recipes were only tools, directed by the hearts and hands of the men who used them. The killers had already shown us their hearts. And if this tool had got into their hands, so many more people would fall. An army that walks with the Archangel will be invincible. And the mortal general who led it could do anything he wanted. A man could overthrow His Majesty, Charles, and proclaim himself the new king. Kill the king, force Parliament to fall in line, and England will be theirs… Another war awaited us. With the Archangel’s Fire, this one would be a slaughter.” That just shows you how dangerous the Archangels fire is and why it should be destroyed.
If I was left in Charge of the Archangel Fire I would destroy it. I would destroy it because it is very dangerous and killed people. I know this because in the book on page 312 it states,” His friend Hugh had died because of it,and ten other had been murdered in the hunt.” The Archangel Fire is also very dangerous because it give the person who made it the advantage of power. Also the ability to win all battles. On page 294 it says,” …’The man who discovers the Fire could change the world. And if the wrong people get ahold of it…’ He stared into the distance.’ An army the walls with the Archangel will be invincible.’” So I would destroy the Archangel Fire because I can kill people, and be very dangerous. It can also kill people because in the text it says,”I thought of my Masters sad, scrawled confession. The Archangel’s fire was never meant for mortal men . . . What have I done?” I would definitely destroy the Archangel Fire.
Maiya Swan Knowing what the Archangel’s Fire is capable of, and if I was let in charge of it, I would destroy it. I have multiple reasons why I would destroy the Archangel’s Fire, starting with, if the wrong person gets hold of it. If someone you didn’t want to get hold of the Archangels Fires captured it, they could do horrible things that people never even imagined. Next, the Archangel’s Fire is very dangerous and deadly, it can kill and badly injure people. On page 310 it states, “The Archangel’s Fire was never meant for mortal men...What have I done?” This shows me that the Archangel’s Fire can kill anyone and is fatal.
If I was in Christopher's situation and if the power the Archangels Fire were in my possession I would destroy it. This is because it has proven to be very dangerous. Master Benedict was a very good man so was his friend Hugh. These really good man did very bad things with the Archangels Fire on accident. I couldn’t imagine what would happen if it ended up in the wrong hands. In the book it says “The Archangels fire was never meant for mortal men. What have I done.” This shows us that this shouldn’t exist. If I was left with this huge responsibility I would get rid of Archangel fire as quick as I could. I would then burn the recipe and everything that helped Master Benedict come across the recipe.
Christopher's situation was quiet difficult, and if I beheld possession of the Archangels Fire, I would do one thing, DESTROY. Destroying this would get ride of the power that no man should have. Christopher found out two things when he got found the Archangel Fire, 1. Hugh was blown to limbs from this and 2. Given to the wrong hands the potentials of destruction are endless. Text evidence when Christopher looks through the notes, Master Benedict writes "The Archangels Fire was never meant for mortal men. What have I done?" Once I get hold of the Archangels Fire, I'll dispose of it quickly along with the notes and recipe.
Christopher was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire . If I were in his shoes I would find a way to use the Archangel’s Fire for healing. Like the apothecary motto says, “I am called throughout the world the bringer of aid.” I would want to find a way to use the Archangel’s Fire for aid. With some help from other apothecaries, I might be able to find a way to use the Archangel’s Fire for healing. If there is no way to use the Archangel’s Fire for health I would then destroy it. The Archangel’s Fire is very dangerous and it coming in the wrong hands could destroy the world. My second choice would be to destroy it immediately.
If I were in possession of the Archangel’s Fire I would rig the whole chamber with notes in it to explode. The reason I would do this is that it’s a terrible weapon that blew poor Hugh to bits and made someone want it enough to go on an Apothecary killing spree. I mean a weapon that had enough power to bring down the whole chamber that it was being studied in. If the puritans got hold of that much power the Separatists would be crushed and vice versa. Plus if I just buried the notes it would be possible for someone to find them eventually even though it might take a while. So yes, I would burn those notes to the ground and every other paper in that chamber so if someone were to find the chamber they wouldn’t get any ideas.
Josh, I like how you specifically mention Puritans and Separatists. You connect it nicely. Do you think the Fire would just explode the chamber and not do any harm on the outside if you did that?
Gavin Bracken - If I was the holder of the Archangel's Fire I would destroy it. If so many apothecaries were murdered trying to find it, it must have been something of great worth. If any one man had it, he could overthrow the king, and possibly rule the whole world. No one man should have that kind of power. Not to mention those who died trying to perfect it. For example Master Hugh was blown up and Master Benedict had to bury him. The Fire eventually lead to Master Benedict being killed as well. So if so many people died either working on it or wanting it, than it has no place in this mortal world.
In chapter 31, christopher wasn't sure what to do with the Archangels fire. I would also have a hard time figuring out what to do with it. If I were in charge of the Archangels fire I would figure out a way help heal people. I would enlist in some help from other apothecaries. We could figure out a way to heal. Some medicines mixed the right way and with the right ingredients would help a lot with that job. It’s not just medicines that you have to have to care for people. You also have to have a knowledge to care for the patients correctly. I enjoy helping people and this would really make me happy to be able to help hurt or sick people.
If I was put into the situation that Christopher was in, I would keep the Archangel's Fire's recipe hidden and use it only in times of need. I would only tell one trusted person where it was and for him to tell no one even if something happened to him. This would be in case something was to happen to me. If something happened to the person I trusted with the Archangel's fire it would be gone forever. Hopefully. If he or she knew that something was happening to them I would want them to destroy the recipes. I wouldn’t want to take any chances with them getting into the wrong hands.
If I was given the Archangel's fire I would protect it. There are multiple people out there who want to use the Archangels fire for power and glory. I don't think I would want to destroy it because I don't think it could be destroyed. I think that Master Benedict would have tried to destroy it if he could have. But I would try to destroy it without killing myself. I think it would be better and safer to protect it.
Jerek- If I were left with the Archangel’s Fire I would use its power to create new remedies and recipes to help people. Today, many people are faced with cancer and if I had the power I would create a cure for cancer. I would shape the world as I wanted, I would supply everyone with enough food to live and give them homes. I would change every country’s money system to credits. To earn credits you must work, the harder the job, the more credits you earn. The world is over populating, so I would smite all murderers, rapists, and terrorists. I would use the Fire for my own personal gain creating anything I want. I would use the Fire to make my life fun and exciting. I would take my family to outstanding places that very little people get to see. That is what I would do if I had the power of the Archangels Fire.
Jerek, if you would keep the Fire, I'm happy to hear you would do things like create a cure for cancer. You appear to have thought this through. Would you be afraid that it would fall into the wrong hands? How would you protect it from that? :) Well done!
If I were left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire I would definitely destroy it. The Fire has so much power, almost too much. On page 292 it says, “Knowledge can bring us great wonders, but it can also bring great suffering.” The Fire is just too great. It would bring so much destruction and suffering even if you think it might be a good idea at the moment. As we can see from what happened to Hugh and Oswyn and the Elephant, it would a horrible idea to try and use it. On page 306, Master Benedict writes, “The power is too great. The Archangel’s Fire was never meant for mortal men. The slightest tremor brings the wrath of God upon the bearer. What have I done?” I would absolutely destroy the Fire if i were left in charge of it.
If I was in Christopher's situation, and held possession of the Archangels Fire, I would destroy it immediately. I would do this because it is very dangerous. Hugh was a good man, but because of the fire, it killed him. On page 312, it states, "His friend Hugh had died because of it and ten others were murdered in the hunt." This tells me that the Fire is deadly and can kill anyone. I would also destroy the notes and recipe because you never know who could get a hold of it, and if it got in the wrong hands, something terrible could happen. If I held possession of the Fire, I would destroy it immediately.
If I were in Christopher's shoes, I think I would protect the Archangel's Fire. I would do this because many people would try to use this fire to shape the world as they see fit, as stated before when Chris and Master Oswyn were talking. I wouldn't destroy it, because if I tried to, I believe that it would dramatically backfire, literally, and harm me and/or others, and I wouldn't want to take that risk. I would only have one other person know about the Fire, and know how to create it, a highly trusted companion, a Tom to my Christopher, so that if something were to happen to me, there would be another person to protect the Fire. On page 306, Christopher finds a page where master Benedict has written "The power is too great. The Archangel's Fire was never meant for mortal men. The slightest tremor brings the wrath of God upon the bearer." This confession of Master Benedict's is what leads me to believe that destroying the fire would cause more of a mess than protecting it from the wrong hands would.
If I were Christopher I would do one thing destroy the Archangel’s Fire . There lots of reasons why I would destroy it. In my mind it is a very dangerous thing.I think its a dangerous thing because if the Archangel’s Fire got in the wrong hands or someone that wasn't supposed to have it got it would be bad. That would be bad because its got so much power you dont know what people would do with it.In the text it says "The Archangels fire was never meant for mortal men. What have I done." This piece of text is another reason I would destroy it.The Archangels fire is very dangerous because if someone did get it he/she would do so many bad things without even knowing it. In the book Master Benedict did many wrong things with the Archangels fire not meaning to do any harm.
If I were in charge of the Archangels fire I would destroy it. I would destroy this because it could stop people from looking for it. Also because if the wrong person got ahold of the ingredients they could do bad things that no one could imagine. One of those bad things is that if they find out the fire of Archangels they could take over the king of England. On pg. 312, it states, “His Majesty, Charles, and proclaim himself the new king. Kill the king, force parliament to fall in line, and England will be theirs, Oswyn had said. And then what? The rest of the world?” This is what I would do if I had the power of the Archangels fire, I would destroy it.
If i were in charge of the Archangels Fire i would destroy it. I would destroy it to keep it out of harms way. If i wasn't destroy able I would throw it into the middle of the ocean. no one can go to the bottom of the ocean. No-one should have the Archangels Fire because it has the ability to destroy anything. This is why i would destroy it.
If i was in Christopher's position and had to decide what to do with the Archangels Fire, I would destroy it. I would destroy it because of how dangerous it is and because no person should be able to have that much power no matter who they are. On page 312 it states,” His friend Hugh had died because of it,and ten other had been murdered in the hunt.” Just the fact that more than ten people had been murdered by it is enough to make me want to destroy it .On page 310 it says, “The Archangel’s Fire was never meant for mortal men...What have I done?” This is just another example of how dangerous it is, If it is never meant for mortal men then we destroy it so It can not get in the wrong hands.
If I were in charge of the Archangels fire I would most definitely be nervous with it. I would be nervous with it because of its great destructive power. Another reason why I would be nervous about having it in my possession is that the Cult of Archangel would come after me. With such a powerful force, I wouldn’t know what to do with it. If I kept the fire it could land in the hands of the Cult of Archangel, but if destroyed it that power may be forever lost. I think that even though it could give me great power it should be destroyed, in order to keep everyone in this word safe. Master Benedict had been the smartest man I knew and if he believed we couldn’t handle then I would destroy it.
If I were left in charge of Archangels Fire I would use it to help people. This doesn't mean I would just go out and tell the world how to make it though. The first thing I would do is memorize the recipe and then hide it. The reason I wouldn't destroy the fire and its recipe right away is because the Archangels Fire could be very useful in remedies that could help people. An example of this is on pg.385, The Archangels Fire could help cure the plague that has spread outside the walls. Over all I think that if in the right hands Archangels Fire could do a lot more good then it could do bad.
If I were Christopher, and if I was let in charge of the Archangel’s Fire, I would destroy it, because I know what it is capable of. I have numerous reasons why I would destroy the Archangel’s Fire, starting with, if the incorrect person gets hold of it. If somebody you to have the Archangels Fires, seized it, then they could do horrifying things that people never could imagined. Second, the Archangel’s Fire is very hazardous and deadly, it can kill and seriously injure people. On page 310 the author states, “The Archangel’s Fire was never meant for mortal men...What have I done?” This shows that the Archangel’s Fire can kill anyone. Overall, if I were Christopher and I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire, I would destroy it.
Jesse P. If I was in charge of Archangel's Fire, I would not really know what to do with it. I would most likely stay away from it. I would want to stay away from it because it would most likely kill me or cause alot of pain becasue it is God's fire. I feel like it would burn me the same way that it burnt Master benedcit. If I was in charge of Archangel's Fire I feel like this would be a very bad thing. I feel like I might knock it over and cause a big fire and tremendous amounts of danger to everyone.
In chapter 31, Christopher wasn't sure what to do with the Archangels fire. I would have a hard time figuring out what to do with it as well. But if I were in charge of the Archangels fire I think I would destroy it. I would destroy it because it is a very dangerous weapon. In the book it says “The Archangels fire was never meant for mortal men. What have I done?” This proofs it is a very dangerous weapon.
In chapter 31 Christopher was givin the power of the Archangels Fire but6 he has no idea what to do with it. I were given the Archangels fire I would get rid of it forever so no one can use it because it can kill anyone in its way also I would be scared because of its powers and I now the question dose not ask this but I would get every apothecaries and anyone with magic so we could all destroy it so no one can use it for evil.
If I were left in charge of the Archangel's Fire, I'd ultimately want to destroy it. It would take probably hundreds of years of Apothecaries work with it, but in the long run, I think it'd be worth it. Something with that much power, or even the notes suggesting how to make it, should not be in the hands of ANYBODY. Even if it were left to the most trustworthy person in the world, who had a past free of violence, there'd still be a lot of pressure to do the right thing. And even the best people can crack under pressure. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to destroy it, and make the people hunting for it think they've been led on a wild goose chase.
Christopher is in a very tricky situation. If I were in his situation I would get rid of the Archangel's Fire. It is a very powerful substance and if it fell into the wrong hands it would be catastrophic. Also, the fire is very hard to control. Even if it was in the right hands people would still end up dying and getting hurt. I feel the very best thing for Christopher to do is get rid of the fire.
If I was in charge of Archangel’s fire I would use it to protect myself and people I care about. The Archangel’s fire would be a last resort so I wouldn't kill myself over something not worth it. I think trying to destroy would be a risk I'm pretty sure Master Benedict would have already tried to destroy it if it were possible so it wouldn't get in the wrong hands. I could also use it to protect the store from the murder. I think I would just use the weapon for self and other protection instead of destroying it and risking dying.
Bella, I hadn't thought about Benedict already trying to destroy it--nice job! If you kept it, would you have a plan on how to keep it out of villains' hands?
Ellie S. If I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire, I try to destroy it. The Fire wasn’t ever supposed to be used by people. It was far too dangerous. I would be very terrified to be in charge of a weapon so powerful. I think it would be the best option to destroy it because it could get into the wrong hands. If it couldn’t be destroyed, I would find a place to hide the Fire where no one could ever find it. I wouldn’t tell anyone where I hid it, or that it even existed.
Joshua Youles If I were left in charge of the fire I would try and destroy it. This fire is too powerful for the good or the evil.If the evil got a hold of it the world would end. Even it the good got a hold of it the person who holds it would probably go rouge and use it for himself. If the fire was destroyed less people would die. If I couldn't destroy it, I would throw it in the deepest part of the ocean never to be found again.
If I was left with the angel power then I would destroy it. The fire is way to powerful for anyone. If one of the evil people got it they would destroy the world. Even if one of the good people had it they would have gotten selfish. They wouldn't have made it to where everyone had happiness. If I had a choice of destroying it I would use one on the apothecary's potions and I would make it invisible or make it disappear.
If I was in Christopher's shoes, holding possession of the Archangel’s Fire, I would try my hardest to destroy it as soon as possible. The fire is very dangerous and powerful. The fire was never supposed to be used by people at all because it is so dangerous. In my opinion, I think the best thing to do in this situation is to destroy the Archangel's Fire. If worst came to worst and the fire could not be destroyed, I would probably hide the fire somewhere where people would never find it and never know it existed. Overall, I would destroy the fire as soon as possible because it is so dangerous and powerful.
If the Archangel’s fire was in my posession, like it is with Christopher now, I would destroy the fire. It is extremely dangerous for one person to have too much power. The Archangel’s fire holds the power to create, destroy, and kill. In the book, talking about the Archangel’s fire, states, “Master Benedict had searched for the raw power of the universe, to be shaped for the betterment of man, and instead he found an unearthly weapon. And the mortal general who led it could do anything he wanted.” The Archangel fire is very dangerous and someone with the power the fire possesses would go crazy with the immense power it holds. If the Archangel’s fire was entrusted to me, I would destroy it so no one else would have to deal with it.
If I was left in Charge of the Archangel Fire I would destroy it. Knowing what the Archangel’s Fire is capable of and who could get there hands on it. The best thing to do from my perspective is to get rid of it. If someone did get ahold of it they could do horrible things that people never imagined. It has killed and injured people is is a dangerous thing to be messing around. On page 312, it states, "His friend Hugh had died because of it and ten others were murdered in the hunt.". This tells me that it could kill anyone at any moment. These are just some of the reasons why I would destroy it.
If I was left in charge of the Archangel Fire I would burn the directions. If anyone up to no good got there hands on it who knows what would happen next. The recipe is very dangerous and has killed many including his friend Hugh and I feel like it would be the right thing to destroy it. Since the spell is pretty much like a loose cannon, destroying the directions would be smart move.
If I were left in charge of the Archangel Fire I would destroy it. The Archangel Fire is vary dangerous even in the hands of good people. It isn't even supposed to be in the hands of people. It has also killed many people messing around and looking for it. In my opinion I would destroy it to protect the lives of many people.
Cailan M If I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire I would want to try to get rid of it. I think that even if it’s in the right hands, the Archangel’s Fire is so powerful that it should never be used. Whether that be for good or for bad. On page 311 it says, “In sending me here, Master Benedict had placed the final decision about the Archangel’s Fire in my hands.” He then goes on to wonder if he should keep working with the fire, to “further unlock god’s healing powers.” Or, if he should hide, or destroy the potion. I think Christopher is in a very tough situation because he knows how powerful the potion is but he doesn’t know what the right choice to do with it is.
In chapter 31, Christopher is conflicted on what to do with archangel fire. If I were Christopher, I would try to purefy so that I could blow things up. I would also use it to get revenge for Master Benidict. I would also try to be an apothecary apprentice so that I could use his stuff. If I could not do that, I would ignore it and make sure no one got it.
ReplyDeleteToo much power is a dangerous thing, Gabby! Nice response--your evidence is solid.

DeleteIf I were left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire I would definitely destroy it.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in Christopher's situation, and held possession of the Archangels Fire, I would destroy it immediately.
ReplyDeleteIf I were in Christopher's shoes, I think I would protect the Archangel's Fire.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Christopher I would do one thing destroy the Archangel’s Fire .
ReplyDeleteIf I were in charge of the Archangels fire I would destroy it.
ReplyDeleteTaking control by killing kings and forcing subjects to obey is never a good idea, right Jaylee? Great job!
DeleteDerrick Caldwell,
ReplyDeleteIf i were in charge of the Archangels Fire i would destroy it.
ReplyDeleteIf I were in charge of the Archangels fire I would most definitely be nervous with it.

ReplyDeleteIf I were left in charge of Archangels Fire I would use it to help people.

ReplyDeleteIf I were Christopher, and if I was let in charge of the Archangel’s Fire, I would destroy it, because I know what it is capable of.

ReplyDeleteIf I was in charge of Archangel's Fire, I would not really know what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteIn chapter 31 Christopher was givin the power of the Archangels Fire but6 he has no idea what to do with it. I were given the Archangels fire I would get rid of it forever so no one can use it because it can kill anyone in its way also I would be scared because of its powers and I now the question dose not ask this but I would get every apothecaries and anyone with magic so we could all destroy it so no one can use it for evil.

ReplyDeleteIf I were left in charge of the Archangel's Fire, I'd ultimately want to destroy it.
Trinity, even the most decent person in the world would have a hard time controlling the Fire--I totally agree.
DeleteChristopher is in a very tricky situation.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in charge of Archangel’s fire I would use it to protect myself and people I care about.
ReplyDeleteBella, I hadn't thought about Benedict already trying to destroy it--nice job! If you kept it, would you have a plan on how to keep it out of villains' hands?

ReplyDeleteIf I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire, I try to destroy it.

ReplyDeleteIf I were left in charge of the fire I would try and destroy it.

ReplyDeleteIf I was left with the angel power then I would destroy it.
ReplyDeleteIf I was in Christopher's shoes, holding possession of the Archangel’s Fire, I would try my hardest to destroy it as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteIf the Archangel’s fire was in my posession, like it is with Christopher now, I would destroy the fire. And the mortal general who led it could do anything he wanted.” The Archangel fire is very dangerous and someone with the power the fire possesses would go crazy with the immense power it holds. If the Archangel’s fire was entrusted to me, I would destroy it so no one else would have to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteIf I was left in Charge of the Archangel Fire I would destroy it.
ReplyDeleteIf I was left in charge of the Archangel Fire I would burn the directions. If anyone up to no good got there hands on it who knows what would happen next. The recipe is very dangerous and has killed many including his friend Hugh and I feel like it would be the right thing to destroy it. Since the spell is pretty much like a loose cannon, destroying the directions would be smart move.
ReplyDeleteIf I were left in charge of the Archangel Fire I would destroy it. The Archangel Fire is vary dangerous even in the hands of good people. It isn't even supposed to be in the hands of people. It has also killed many people messing around and looking for it. In my opinion I would destroy it to protect the lives of many people.

ReplyDeleteIf I was left in charge of the Archangel’s Fire I would want to try to get rid of it.
